As in WaterBoss systems, the grain size of the ion exchange resin of the Fine class used in the Aquaphor WaterMax system is significantly smaller than the resin granules used in standard softeners, and therefore, the contact surface of the resin with water, with the same volume, is much larger in Aquaphor WaterMax, which significantly affects on the kinetics of ion exchange processes, accelerating them.
This benefit comes from a patented flow distribution system where the ion exchange resin is sandwiched between two 20 μm meshes. This solution allowed us to obtain several more competitive advantages:
1. Reduce the consumption of salt, water and regeneration time.
2. Make the most of the working volume of the filter. Due to the absence of stagnant zones, the ion-exchange resin in Aquaphor WaterMax is 100% used.
3. Protect the ion-exchange resin from suspended solids and mechanical impurities.
Like WaterBoss systems, Aquaphor WaterMax systems have a unique regeneration algorithm. The built-in controller collects data on the actual water consumption by day of the week. It then compares it to the current day's consumption data. Considering the remaining resource of the resin, the controller decides whether to start regeneration now or postpone it at a later date. The microprocessor has an autonomous power source, due to which all the settings made are saved, and if there is a power outage for less than a day, the current time will not need to be adjusted.
